My work comes from within and is based on experiences in travel, studies, books on art, philosophy and life in general . I identify with Jackson Pollock who once said; “When I am in my painting I am not aware of what I am doing. I have no fears about making changes, destroying the image, because the painting has a life of its own. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that I make a mess”. My work is influenced by my inner self, thoughts and feelings. I like the freedom which that entails and the liberty and abandon with which I can execute my work. Nature is another strong influence on me and it is a solid base in my art, and it is subconscious. I like texture as it is closely related to nature and conveys for me the constantly changing mood of the seasons and of the fauna and flora. My vision, both the actual and the virtual, is endlessly in awe of the natural world and it inspires me physically, mentally and spiritually. “An experience becomes creative only if one lets oneself go, if one eliminates intellectual control as far as is humanly possible” (quoted from Desiderius Orban).
