Henrikas Teris had been drawing, painting and sculpting, with intense periods of work and study, for over 50 years  and since closing his architectural practice a few years ago, has been working as a full time artist. His recent interest in the Australian landscape has been the result of an extensive visit with experienced locals to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. Currently he is painting a series of significant scenes of Sydney. His professional training began with lessons from an Italian painter in a refugee camp, followed by  drawing classes at the Julian Ashton School at the Rocks in Sydney in the mid 50′s while still in his teens. Subsequently as an Architecture student he developed  a broader understanding of art, movements and techniques from tutors such as James Gleeson, George Molnar, Harry Seidler and others. In the early seventies, studied a year at the Swiss Cottage Art School in London. He spent five years in Nigeria, a never ending delight for a painter, where he also worked as an architect and painted extensively. Later in Australia, attended the Tom Bass Sculpture Studio in Erskineville. He is an exhibiting member of Portraits Australia, the Sculptors Society and the Ku-Ring-Gai Art Society. His paintings and portraits are in private collections in Nigeria, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.
