Most of the works in this show are big-brush-kind-of-works. They were created to remember and record what I saw as I flew over an entirely foreign frozen landscape. They came into being fast. I felt driven to somehow make sense of the landscape below me – the size of the works reflecting the physical expanse of the land and the monotones echoing the absence of colour in a northern hemisphere winter.
